Teaser Tuesday #28

teaser-tuesday

Hey Book Nerds! It’s Tuesday, and you know what that means! Another teaser! I just started another really good book and am so excited to share it with you all. It is perfect for this season’s weather and is filled with friendship and dogs. Who doesn’t love dogs? Anyways, let’s get straight into today’s teaser!

I smiled at her and headed up the aisle of the theater, then out into the bright sunshine of the parking lot, where Bri’s SUV, a purple Escape hybrid, was parked. She’d gotten it earlier this year and immediately named it McQueen. “Because it’s the Grape Escape,” she’d said, smiling proudly when she told us. “Get it?”None of us did, and Bri had declared us all completely lacking in any kind of film education and then made us watch The Great Escape and Bullitt back-to-back, which led to Palmer developing a huge crush on Steve McQueen

This is the second book of Morgan Matson’s that I have picked up and I already know that I am going to love it. There is something about her writing that just screams “SUMMER CONTEMPORARY!” You feel the need to enjoy the heat, lick melting ice cream cones and splash in a pool.

One of the things I’ve been really liking about this book are all of the creative and unique names. It isn’t everyday that you read books with names like Palmer, Clark or Toby, especially for girls. At first I thought Toby was a boy, since I have been binge watching Pretty Little Liars. But, after the first 100 pages, the names warmed up to me. I came to love having a Toby in this novel, as a girl, because it shows that the name can be gender neutral. Also, does anyone think of that lemonade/iced-tea drink whenever you hear “Palmer?”Or is it just me?

Also,I am so happy to say that I have a signed edition of this novel. I picked it up in the sale section of Chapters MONTHS AGO, and I couldn’t leave without. But, I always thought that it was a computer scanned print. Turns out the signature bleeds through to the next page so I’m pretty sure it’s handwritten, which makes me super happy!

If you are interested in reading this, here’s the synopsis:

The Unexpected EverythingAndie had it all planned out. When you are a politician’s daughter who’s pretty much raised yourself, you learn everything can be planned or spun, or both. Especially your future. Important internship? Check. Amazing friends? Check. Guys? Check (as long as we’re talking no more than three weeks).

But that was before the scandal. Before having to be in the same house with her dad. Before walking an insane number of dogs. That was before Clark and those few months that might change her whole life. Because here’s the thing—if everything’s planned out, you can never find the unexpected. And where’s the fun in that?

THAT’S IT FOR TODAY! I hope you enjoyed this week’s teaser! Don’t forget to like, comment and follow for more posts!

Happy Reading!
