Hey everyone! I am currently suffering under a pile of study notes for my first exam tomorrow! I’m pretty scared for it but, I just cannot wait for it to be over. But, I found a bit of time to write a blog post and I’m really excited about it! I found this post a while ago on whogavethewrite‘s blog and I couldn’t wait to get it up. It’s such a cool concept for a book tag. So, with that all said and done, let’s get straight into today’s post!
READ ONLY SERIES OR STANDALONE BOOKS?
This question is actually extremely hard for me to answer. I love both series and standalones but, I think I will have to go with series. Series have a lot of time to develop and diversify within 2 – … books. A series could be as many books in the same world as an author could possibly want. Meanwhile, a standalone has up to 800 pages to show it’s unique writing, characters and storyline.
READ ONLY MALE OR FEMALE AUTHORS?
This question shouldn’t be on here. A person’s choice of reading material shouldn’t depend on the author’s gender. Both genders can create similar books written through both male and female perspectives. For instance, Rick Yancey did a phenomenal job with Cassie’s character in The 5th Wave, while Sarah J. Maas does an amazing job with all o the hotties featured in her novels. But, if I had to choose for this question, I would pick female. Not strictly for the content of the book, but because there are more books written by females.
SHOP ONLY AT BARNES & NOBLE (INDIGO FOR CANDIANS) OR AMAZON?
The sad thing is, I’ve never actually bought anything off of Amazon. I know, it is a waaaay cheaper option than always buying the $10 – $30 dollar books in store but, I just never end up doing it. Since I’m a Canadian, I will admit that I am a bit obsessed with going to Indigo/Chapters. Every time I go to the mall with my mom (hey mom!) we always go into the Starbucks within Chapters and I end up spending 20 minutes looking at all of the books.
ALL BOOKS BECOME MOVIES OR TV SHOWS?
TV SHOWS FOR THE WIN!! With a movie the directors can’t go too into detail with everything that happens throughout the novel/series. One of the only book to movie adaptations (besides Harry Potter) that ended up being phenomenal was If I Stay. It followed the book so well and included almost all of the details given in the book! But, for like long series, I think TV is best. The Shadowhunters series is going strong so far, Queen of Shadows will most likely be incredible and so many others are becoming TV shows too!
READ 5 PAGES PER DAY OR 5 BOOKS PER WEEK?
What the heck is this question? Of course, 5 books a week!! I’ve actually gone many days reading 5 or less pages of a book but, I never ended up feeling satisfied at the end of those days. But, being able to read 5 books a week would be PHENOMENAL! I can hardly get through 2 a week so it would be crazy if I could get through that many! And even, my TBR is over flowing.
BE A PROFESSIONAL BOOK REVIEWER OR PROFESSIONAL BOOK WRITER?
Although it’s always been a huge dream of mine to become a professional author, I think I would prefer to be a professional book reviewer. It would be so cool to live a life of reading every possible book and then reviewing them. And if you got paid from that too, it’d be ten times better. And yes, I know that my writing isn’t that bad but sometimes I feel like I could never top Cassandra Clare’s or Sarah J. Maas’s writing.
ONLY READ YOUR TOP 20 BOOKS OR ONLY READ NEW RELEASES?
Although I would miss reading about Daemon Black, I’m going to have to pick new releases. I currently do not have 20 favorite books, only a top 3. But, if I chose my top 20 favorite books, I would never get to read all of the wonderful new realeases that are coming out. And you guys would just get 20, 00o reviews on the same twenty books.
BE A LIBRARIAN OR BOOKSELLER?
Definitely a bookseller. I have a huge dream that my first job will be at Chapters! But, I feel like a job at a book store would be so much more entertaining than one at a library. I’ve always found libraries a little too quite. So a bookstore is like my homeland. Where could you go wrong in a store filled with thousands of books, and coffee? No where.
ONLY READ YOUR FAVORITE GENRE OR ANYTHNG BUT YOUR FAVORITE GENRE?
Well, let’s just count YA as a whole genre and I’ll survive! I could possibly live without ever reading an adult book (maybe not..). But how could I give up YA!?! YA books are what let me express myself. I don’t even know what I would do without them.
ONLY READ PHYSICAL BOOKS OR EBOOKS?
I absolutely love physical books. Whether it’s a paperback or hardback, I don’t care. I just love being able to put my finger on the edge of the pages and flip through all of them. Sniffing that fresh and ancient smell of books. But there isn’t anything I love more than when the pure white pages start to fade into a yellow tone. They are beautiful!
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and reading this post! Don’t forget to like, comment and follow for more posts!
Happy Reading!
