Teaser Tuesday #36

TEASER

Hey everyone, and welcome back for another Teaser Tuesday. I’ve had such a busy day filled with schoolwork, and I am so excited to finally type up this post. I was actually planning on typing this up in my free period earlier, but I ended up doing some research for an essay instead. Priorities, right? But, here I am, and I am so excited to share my current read with all of you! Let’s get started.

Abilities. Powers that defied explanation, mental talents so freakish, doctors and scientists reclassified our entire generation as Psi. We were no longer human. We broke that mold.

I just started this book last night, and I am really enjoying it. I am still trying to figure out what genre this book would fall into, but I believe that it is either a dystopian or a psychological thriller. If any of you know which genre it falls into, please leave a comment down below! This book does seem perfect for October, but I am currently reading it for the Bookalicious book club! If you are interested in joining, CLICK HERE! Below is the book’s synopsis:

The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds, #1)When Ruby woke up on her tenth birthday, something about her had changed. Something frightening enough to make her parents lock her in the garage and call the police. Something that got her sent to Thurmond, a brutal government “rehabilitation camp.” She might have survived the mysterious disease that had killed most of America’s children, but she and the others emerged with something far worse: frightening abilities they could not control.

Now sixteen, Ruby is one of the dangerous ones. When the truth comes out, Ruby barely escapes Thurmond with her life. She is on the run, desperate to find the only safe haven left for kids like her—East River. She joins a group of kids who have escaped their own camp. Liam, their brave leader, is falling hard for Ruby. But no matter how much she aches for him, Ruby can’t risk getting close. Not after what happened to her parents. When they arrive at East River, nothing is as it seems, least of all its mysterious leader. But there are other forces at work, people who will stop at nothing to use Ruby in their fight against the government. Ruby will be faced with a terrible choice, one that may mean giving up her only chance at having a life worth living.

And now, the next book that I am reading:

After that, he dropped the subject, but I kept thinking about it. What would it be like to be onstage with all eyes on me? I daydreamed about wearing a beautiful costume and standing beside Z. He performed miracles every day. Maybe he could make me watchable. Maybe his friendship was all I needed to be someone other than meek, forgettable Victoria Zell.

I was sent a copy of this book from Sourcebooks FIRE, and I am happy to say that I am really enjoying it! It kid f reminds me of one of those popular Wattpad stories where the totally swoon-worthy guy goes for the shy girl. I’m hoping to finish this right after The Darkest Minds and then dive into another book by Cyn Balog. Below is this book’s synopsis:

Unnatural DeedsSome secrets are worth killing to protect.

Victoria Zell doesn’t fit in, not that she cares what anyone thinks. She and her homeschooled boyfriend, Andrew, are inseparable. All they need is each other. That is, until Zachary Zimmerman joins her homeroom. Within an hour of meeting, he convinces good-girl Vic to cut class. And she can’t get enough of that rush.

Despite Vic’s loyalty to Andrew, she finds her life slowly entwining with Z’s. Soon she’s lying to everyone she knows and breaking all the rules to be with Z. She can’t get enough of him—or unraveling the stories of the family he’s determined to keep hidden.

Except Z’s not the only one with a past. Straight-laced Vic is hiding her own secrets…secrets that are about to destroy everything in her path.

And that is it for today! I hope you enjoyed both of this week’s teasers. Be sure to link your Teaser Tuesday post in the comments. If you don’t post Teaser Tuesdays, be sure to comment what books you are currently reading! Don’t forget to like and follow to stay up to date with all of my future posts!

Happy Reading,
Alaina
