Top 5 Wednesday – Favorite Bromances

TOP 5

Hey everyone! This week’s Top 5 Wednesday topic is “favorite bromances,” and I am pretty sure that you all know how excited I am for this! Boys + books = a great read, especially if they are hot! I have read my fair share of bromances in YA and today, I am going to be sharing 5 of my favorites! Let’s get started!

  1. Rhysand, Cassian and Azriel – A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
Image result for rhysand cassian azrielOkay, the real question is: who didn’t love this bromance? In all honesty, their friendship is one of the only things that you cannot count as problematic. Their past, maybe, but definitely not their present day friendship! I really didn’t know what to expect when Feyre was introduced to Rhysand’s Inner Circle. I pretty much would’ve been terrified to be in Feyre’s position. But the member of the Inner Circle were definitely some of the best characters in the books, especially the bromance between Cassian, Azriel and Rhysand. Cassian was a HUGE jokester, Rhysand was a little bit more laid-back, and Azriel tended to stick to the shadows. But, when they got mad at each other, they would start the brawl of the century… with no death. I definitely need to re-read this book soon because I miss the characters a lot!
  2. Daemon and Dawson – Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Image result for dawson and daemonI don’t know if there is any closer way to have a bromance than being twin brothers. The relationship goes to another level when you have a twin that you know and understand better than anyone. And that was just like Dawson and Daemon’s relationship. We were first introduced to their bromance in Shadows, the prequel novella, but that was also where we saw “laid back Dawson” and “douchebag Daemon.” The bromance returned in Opal with a rocky start. Dawson was stressed out and worried and all Daemon wanted to do was protect his brother! But, by the epilogue of Opposition, everything was normal and the two of them were back to their bro-hugging status. I definitely recommend you check out the Lux series if you like paranormal romance and hot guys!
  3. Kit and Ty – The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare
Image result for kit and tyThere is only one word to describe this bromance: ADORABLE! Like, literally the most adorable bromance in the world! If you are planning to read The Dark Artifices and are strictly excited for Kit and Ty, you are going to have to wait until Lord of Shadows to read about them. But it is definitely worth it! It starts with Ty sleeping outside Kit’s door, Ty later inviting Kit into his and Livvy’s friend group and I am pretty sure that they even fought alongside each other. The two of them are perfect together since Kit is still adjusting to the Shadow world and Ty deals with what sounds like Autism. I have a good feeling that a romance will form between them in Queen of Air and Darkness.
  4. Kaidan and Blake – Sweet series by Wendy Higgins
SWEETTRILOGYThese two were the bro-hugging type. They definitely didn’t have as close of a relationship as the previous 3, but they were still super close! Holy, now that I’m writing this, I am realizing how much I forget about this series. I think that I am in for a Sweet series re-read before I get to Sweet Peril. Blake and Kaidan had a long distance bromance, but they were still able to visit each other frequently. Even though we didn’t get to see their relationship before Anna, I strongly believe that she helped strengthen their friendship. They were able to visit and spend more time with Anna around, since they were constantly going on new missions. I adore Wendy Higgins’s books and I definitely recommend that you give them a go! Also, the picture is not how I imagine Blake, but it is close enough to Kaidan’s description!
  5. Gansey, Ronan, Adam and Noah – The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater
Image result for gansey adam ronan noahSome of you may already know this, but I am not a fan of the Raven Cycle. I haven’t been able to figure out why, but it just isn’t my jam. But, I actually LOVE the characters in the series. They are so different, unique and enjoyable to read. Although the group is known as “BLUE and HER Raven Boys,” this post is strictly about bromances. The first 3 boys all attend Aglionby, a private school for boys also known as “the Raven school.” Ronan and Adam both have hard pasts, while Gansey was lucky to have a slightly more privileged past. The three of them are on the hunt to find ley lines and a Welsh King named Glendower, with the help of Noah. These four guys do everything together and that’s why I love their bromance.

And that’s it for today’s post! I hope you enjoyed all of my picks. Do you do Top 5 Wednesday? Be sure to leave your post in the comments and I will definitely check it out! Don’t forget to like, comment and follow to stay up to date with all of my future posts!

Happy Reading,
Alaina
