Teaser Tuesday #34 | A Book of Criminals and Thieves

Hey everyone! It’s Tuesday, and that means it’s time for a new teaser. It’s the perfect reading day where I live: windy, rainy and gloomy. I was so tempted to finish my current read before I wrote up this post, but I feel like it is going to take me hours to pick my next read. So, I decided to put my book down for a little lunch break to write this up. And because pasta was totally calling my name!

Here’s today’s hints: I’m reading a book of criminals and thieves written by a popular female author whose initials are the same as Libba Bray’s. It’s a fantasy book with lots of magic and fierce females. Any guesses? Let’s get straight to the teaser!

He wasn’t sure what he’d expected, but the force of the river was terrifying, flowing fast and hard as an avalanche. The noise was deafening even beneath the water, but with fear also came a kind of giddy vindication. He’d been right.

Okay, I think I may have made the hints a little too easy, but I am currently reading Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I originally read this book back in March (I think), but I listened to half of it through audiobook, which ended up in me missing a lot of each characters’ back story. So, when me and Emily over at Who Gave The Write were picking August’s BOTM for Bookalicious, I noticed that she had this book on her shelf. Since I wanted to give this book a re-read, we decided to make this Bookalicious’s BOTM for August!

I am so glad that I decided to give this book another go because I am enjoying it so much more that my first read through! I love each ship and I can’t wait to see where everything goes in Crooked Kingdom! Below is the synopsis for Six of Crows:

Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1)Criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker has been offered wealth beyond his wildest dreams. But to claim it, he’ll have to pull off a seemingly impossible heist:

Break into the notorious Ice Court
(a military stronghold that has never been breached)

Retrieve a hostage
(who could unleash magical havoc on the world)

Survive long enough to collect his reward
(and spend it)

Kaz needs a crew desperate enough to take on this suicide mission and dangerous enough to get the job done – and he knows exactly who: six of the deadliest outcasts the city has to offer. Together, they just might be unstoppable – if they don’t kill each other first.

And that is it for this week’s teaser! Do you do Teaser Tuesday on your blog? Definitely leave the link to you post in the comments. Also, be sure to share any of your thought on Six of Crows down there too! Don’t forget to like and follow to stay up to date with all of my future posts!

Happy Reading,

    1. That’s crazy! I don’t think I could ever read a fantasy book in one sitting. I can’t wait to get to Crooked Kingdom and hopefully I will love it! ❀

    1. Awe, that’s great! It’s a really expensive book here, so I won’t be getting to it for a while, but I can’t wait to read it! I just need to know what happens.

  1. I’m currently reading this book as well πŸ™‚ I’m only on page 300 though so I wouldn’t have guessed which book you were talking about just by the quote you’ve left hahaha but I’m currently loving it and finding it really hard to put it down πŸ™‚

    1. Yes, it was definitely difficult to put down! All of my teaser tuesdays include little hints before the quotes for a bit of fun since the teasers never include spoilers.
