The Sunshine Blogger Award! (Round 2)

SUNSHINE (3)

I was nominated for The Sunshine Blogger Award by Shoshi over at Shoshi Reads. I actually already did this ward a few weeks ago, but I really liked how Shoshi’s questioned sounded, so I thought that I would do it again. If you are interested in checking out my first round of this tag, you can CLICK HERE! Now, onto round 2!

The rules…

  • Thank the blogger that nominated you and link back to their post.
  • Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display “The Sunshine Blogger Award” in your post and/or on your blog.

And now for Shoshi’s questions:

Who is your favorite author?
Definitely Jennifer L. Armentrout! I haven’t read a lot from her yet, but everything I have read has been amazing. She writes a mix of YA, NA, and adult books from both paranormal and contemporary genres. Although her YA contemporaries are a little bit on the deeper side, her paranormal books have a genuine humor that you cannot pass up! I have yet to pick up any of her adult and NA books, but I just know that they are going to be awesome. She has a new YA contemporary coming out on September 5, and you should all check it out! What is one random fact about you that not many people know?
I actually don’t go book shopping too often. Maybe once or twice a month. I know, it kind of sounds insane since I’m a book reviewer, but my local bookstore only sells books at list price. And list price here is even more than it is in the US. So if I do go book shopping, I usually only buy 2-3 books a month. We also have used book sales at my local mall (the next one is at the end of September!) and I usually buy numerous books from there too. If I ever find something eye-catching on a publishers catalog, I will usually request ARCs in between my book shopping days.

What are your favorite blogs?
Ahh, I have so many favorites! I am always finding new blogs to follow. Some of my current favorites include Rimpy’s Reads and Book Snacks!

How many books have you read in 2017 so far?
My Goodreads is telling me that I have read 53 books this year, but it really doesn’t feel like that many! I did include a few of the short stories I read for school in my challenge, but it feels like I have read a lot less than 53. I plan on reading a few more before the end of summer, and then easing my way to my goal of 60 during the school year!

What do you look for when you buy a book?
*cough* pretty covers *cough*. Yes, I am guilty of being a cover buyer. Am I ashamed? Not at all. But, I definitely am attracted to pretty covers. I don’t really read the synopsis when I buy the book, but I usually have my mind set on which books I want to get before I even get to the bookstore.

What is something that you would love to accomplish as a blogger?
I would really love a huge following! There are currently over 120 of you lovely followers and you are all amazing for staying and reading my posts. It means the world to me that you all stay and support my blog. So thank you ❤

What do you write your blog posts on (laptop, phone, etc.)?
Laptop. The WordPress app is a pain in the butt to use.

How many times have you re-read your favorite book/series?
Most of you may already know what my favorite book is. But if you don’t, it’s Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I first read it back in June of 2015, re-read it that same month, and I now tend to re-read it at least once a year. I have read the book at least 4 times now, and Daemon and Katy’s humor never fails to bring a smile on my face.

What places have you always wanted to visit?
New York City. Whenever there is a question like this, this is my answer. I am constantly imagining myself sitting in quaint coffee shops, browsing the book selections at The Strand, and shopping till I can’t stand anymore. I have been dreaming of visiting New York for years now, and I don’t think that dream is going to be fading anytime soon.

Have you ever been to a book festival/author signing?
Nope. They don’t happen here.

What is your dream job?
I would love LoVe LOVE to go into publishing. It’s always been a dream job of mine, but it is also a very unrealistic job of mine. But, I think that if I could pick any job, it would be to work at a huge publishing house. But, at the moment, I am VERY undecided as to what I’m going to pursue.

And now, onto my nominations! But, I wanted to do something a little different…
Usually, I just pick a few blogs that I talk to a lot. But, I thought it would be neat to do a bunch of blogs that have less than 100 followers. We were all there at one point, and sometimes, you need a little bit of motivation. So below are some amazing blogs that I think deserve The Sunshine Blogger Award. (My apologies if I already tagged you before):

And finally, my questions…

  1. What is your go to blogging outfit?
  2. What is your favorite genre to read?
  3. Do you blog while listening to anything?
  4. Tea or coffee?
  5. Are you a YA reader or an adult reader? Or maybe a mix?
  6. What inspired you to start your blog?
  7. What is your daily routine?
  8. How often do you blog?
  9. What is your zodiac sign?
  10. Do you have any random facts that your followers may not know?
  11. What is your favorite book of all-time?

And that is it for today! I hope you enjoyed today’s post! If you have also done the Sunshine Blogger Award, be sure to leave the link down below. Be sure to like and follow to stay up to date with all of my future posts!

Happy Reading,
Alaina
