Top 5 Wednesday: Characters’ Fitness Routines That I Want

TOP 5

Hey everyone! This week’s Top 5 topic is: Characters’ Fitness Routines That You Want To have. I don’t know about all of you, but I am super lazy when it comes to working out. I just want to sit and read. But, I can be a very active person and I always take part in a phys. ed. class. Over the past few months, I have noticed that book characters tend to have fitness routines, especially in fantasy books. So, today I am going to be sharing my top 5 fictional fitness routines!

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by Lainey and Samantha. If you are interested in joining, CLICK HERE! Now let’s get started!

  1. Rose Hathaway from Vampire Academy:
I remember reading Vampire Academy and just wanting to be Rose Hathaway. For those of you who don’t know, the Vampire Academy series has three types of people: Dhampirs, the guardians, Moroi, the vampires, and Strigoi, the evil. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir and is the guardian of Lissa Dragomir, the last of the Dragomir bloodline. Her job is to protect Lissa from all danger, including Strigoi. In the first book, we watched Rose go through training with her fellow classmates, and also do some extra sessions with Dimitri. If anyone loved Dimitri as much as I did, I think you would know why I would want Rose’s fitness routine.
  2. Emma Carstairs from The Dark Artifices:
Emma Carstairs is literally one of Cassandra Clare’s most badass characters. Instead of watching Emma learn how to be a Shadowhunter (as we did with Clary), we were introduced to this girl who has trained all of her life. She’s been trained to save lives and kill the dark ones. She fights with a blade passed down through her family, Cortana, and wields it as if they are one. She practices for hours on end each day, jumping off high rafters or training. And at the end of each day, she can get away with eating waffles and drinking hot cocoa without getting fat.
  3. Maisie Winters from Faceless:
This is more of an unknown character, but Maisie Williams had an amazing fitness routine before her accident. Although we only got a little glimpse of it, you could tell how hard she worked. She was one of the top members of her school track and field team. She could run both short distance and long distance competitions. She ran, and it gave her peace. She didn’t even let the pain get to her. I love running in phys. ed. class and I would love to be able to run like Maisie!
  4. Daemon Black from the Lux series:
Well, we all already know my obsession with Daemon Black. But, you may not know that he is a wilderness lover and loves to spend his time outside running! He’s got the Luxen genes and he also works off all the 10,000 calories he intakes everyday. Yes, please. Although I am in no way an exerciser, I would love to tag along with Daemon on of his walks through the forests of West Virginia!
  5. Celaena Sardothien from Throne of Glass:
And for this, I really mean from Throne of Glass since I think that her fitness routine changed so much between the novels. But, I really liked her fitness routine in the first novel. She had just come out of Endovier, all weak and frail, and went straight into training. Although I didn’t like Chaol, I thought that he was the best trainer Celaena could have at that difficult time of her life. They went on morning runs together, which I believe are the best way to wake up!

And that is all for today’s post. I hope that you all enjoyed it. Do you do Top 5 Wednesday on your blog? Leave the link to your post down below in the comments! Don’t forget to like, and follow to stay up to date with all of my future posts!

  1. I definitely wouldn’t mind having any of their fitness routines! Don’t know if I’d last a day but…
I always loved Celaena’s and Chaol’s morning runs the most. Besides him being one of the best trainers ever, their companionship was adorable ❤
    Great post, Alaina 🙂

    1. Thank you so much! I think that Chaol and Celaena’s morning runs was one of the only things I liked about the first book. I was in a reading slump during that time, and I just couldn’t bring myself to enjoy it. But I loved how the romance aspect of the novel wasn’t just sudden, budded and bloomed like a flower.

      1. Oh I hear you. Sometimes it’s not the book, it’s us! I really enjoyed book one, and loved the second one, though. From then on it just didn’t feel the same for me.
That was the best part about their romance and I think Maas completely butchered it for no reason at all… Oh wait, I know the reason. *rolls eyes*
But maybe she’ll make up for it one day 😉

      2. I guess we are complete opposites then, since I adored the rest of the series. I don’t know why, but I loved Rowan! Are you going to read the Chaol novella?

      3. That’s alright, lots of people did! I honestly couldn’t stand him… But hey, to each his own 🙂
And absolutely! I’m keeping my expectations as low as possible, though, since he’s not the most beloved of characters. But I hope it’s at least more entertaining than the last few books.
        What about you?

      4. I actually found the last few books by Sarah J. Maas to be very entertaining. I also have low expectationd for Chaol’s novella, but I’m excited to see where it goes!

  2. Definitely agree with Celaena. Just that sequence when she goes from weak to kickass in over the course of that book shows how motivated she is. Same with Rose’s training. She put herself through hell but came out stronger. I do feel a bit ashamed to admit though that I haven’t read the other three books you mentioned. Oops
