Teaser Tuesday #31

TEASER.png

Hey Book Nerds, and welcome back for another teaser! In the past week, I have finished one book and started a bunch of different ones. And, I am also stuck in The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray, which is the book that I featured in last week’s teaser. I ended up starting it but I put it down to start another book. When I finished that “other book,” I started reading it again. But, I honestly don’t know if I can make it past page 230. The writing is just too slow for such a long book.

So, instead of sharing another teaser from The Sweet Far Thing, I am currently rereading a book from my favorite series. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you probably know what my favorite series is. IT’S OBVIOUS. But, I am super excited to reread this book and share an awesome teaser with you!

Slamming the door shut behind me, I leaned against it and laughed again, but the laugh ended in a groan. There’d been a moment where I’d seen what flickered behind the disbelief and anger in those soulful gray eyes. Hurt. Knowing that I’d hurt her feelings made the acid in my stomach churn.
Which was stupid, because last night, I’d considered an arson-assisted relocation plan and hadn’t felt guilty then. But that was before I saw her up close and all kinds of personal. Before I actually spoke to her. Before I realized her eyes were intelligent and beautiful.

Well, after waking up after my 5 and 1/2 hour sleep, this is what I decided to pick up. I was in such a huge mood to read and I knew that Libba Bray’s writing would just put me back to sleep. So I grabbed my “My Blog Is Better Than Your Vlog” bookmark and welcomed myself back to Daemon Black!

For those that don’t know, Oblivion is Obsidian in Daemon Black’s point of view. So, Instead of seeing him as only a douchebag, we also get to see him as a creepy and emotional alien. I try to reread all of the Lux books once a year, and I am currently down to two left: Oblivion and Onyx. At least this reread will kick one of them off my list!

Oblivion (Lux, #1.5)Experience the epic love story of OBSIDIAN as told by its hero, Daemon Black…

I knew the moment Katy Swartz moved in next door, there was going to be trouble. Lots of it.

And trouble’s the last thing I need, since I’m not exactly from around here. My people arrived on Earth from Lux, a planet thirteen billion light years away. Plus, if there’s one thing I know, it’s that humans can’t be trusted. We scare them. We can do things they only dream about, and honestly, we make them look weak as hell. ‘Cuz they are.

But Kat is getting to me in ways no one else has, and I can’t stop myself from wanting her—or wanting to use my powers to protect her. She makes me weak, and I’m the strongest of our kind, tasked with protecting us all. So this one simple girl…she can mean the end for us. Because the Luxen have an even bigger enemy—the Arum, and I need to stay on my game.

Falling for Katy—a human—won’t just place her in danger. It could get us all killed, and that’s one thing I’ll never let happen…

And that’s it for today’s post! I hope you enjoyed this week’s teaser. Hopefully I will be able to finish both this book and the rest of The Sweet Far Thing before next week’s teaser. Don’t forget to like, comment and follow for more posts!

Happy Reading,
Alaina <2
