Hey Book Nerds! It’s Tuesday, and you all know what that means: a new teaser. Currently, I am not reading anything but, I am super excited to share a teaser from my next read. I’ve been reading a trilogy over the past couple of weeks and I have finally made it to the final book! It’s huge and intimidating but, I think it will definitely live up to the previous two. So, let’s dive straight into this week’s teaser.
(p.s. 30 teasers sounds super insane! Thank you all for reading them!)
There is a particular circle of hell not mentioned in Dante’s famous book. It is called comportment, and it exists in schools for young ladies across the empire. I do not know how it feels to be thrown into a lake of fire. I am sure it isn’t pleasant. But I can say with all certainty that walking the length of a ballroom with a book upon one’s head and a backboard strapped to one’s back while imprisoned in a tight corset, layers of petticoats, and shoes that pinch is a form of torture even Mr. Alighieri would find too hideous to document in his Inferno.

When authors start books off with a reference to another famous novel, I am instantly hooked! Although I have never read any of Dante’s works, I understand what the author is trying to get out of this. And really, I’m expecting Gemma Doyle to go through hell and back in this 800 page beast.
We’re back at Spence in this novel, and that means Gemma, Felicity, and Ann are all back together. But, there are still secrets about the realms to be unfolded. Rebel Angels’ ending satisfied me and I actually feel as if the series could’ve ended as a duology. Nonetheless, I am still super excited to see where Libba Bray takes her characters in this one.
And, I am praying, PRAYING that we get some romance in this novel!
IT HAS BEEN A YEAR OF CHANGE since Gemma Doyle arrived at the foreboding Spence Academy. Her mother murdered, her father a laudanum addict, Gemma has relied on an unsuspected strength and has discovered an ability to travel to an enchanted world called the realms, where dark magic runs wild. Despite certain peril, Gemma has bound the magic to herself and forged unlikely new alliances. Now, as Gemma approaches her London debut, the time has come to test these bonds. The Order – the mysterious group her mother was once part of – is grappling for control of the realms, as is the Rakshana. Spence’s burned East Wing is being rebuilt, but why now? Gemma and her friends see Pippa, but she is not the same. And their friendship faces its gravest trial as Gemma must decide once and for all what role she is meant for.
And, that’s it for today! I hope you enjoyed this week’s teaser. Don’t forget to like, comment, share and follow to keep up to date with all of my newest posts!
Happy Reading,
