You’re Not Good Enough Book Tag

Hey Book Nerds! I was planning to post my review for Clockwork Prince today, but I felt like doing a tag. Not just any tag, though. A tag where you get to pick characters and pick them over another character. And, guess what tag that is?! The “You’re Not Good Enough Tag!” I’ve been wanting to do this one for such a long time but every time I plan to do it, I get too lazy to cut up paper and pick a bunch of characters. But, today was the exact opposite. I sort of had a plan to just sit and read all day, but I ended up making pancakes, having a big photoshoot, cleaning the majority of my room, rearranging my clothes and then I decided to do this too. So yea, my lazy Sunday turned into a very productive Sunday!

This tag was created by ReadLikeWildfire and Beccathebookreviewer. Basically all you have to do is pick 30 characters, write them out on pieces of paper, put them into a jar (hat, cup, etc.) and then pull them out in pairs. Then you just answer all 15 of the questions. Sounds simple, right? Let’s get into it!

STEP 1: FIND A CUP

I am a very frequent Starbucks drinker, so how could I not do this tag with one of them! I saved a bunch of the 2016 Christmas cups and picked one of the ones that wouldn’t make my books fall of my shelf. Yes, I do actually use these as book ends for my shelf. They are perfect and if you are an avid Starbucks-goer, they are easy access too! If you don’t have any cups like this you could definitely grab a little jar, a hat, a mug, a bowl, or even a bag. Anything really!

STEP 2: PICK YOUR CHARACTERS

This is the cool part about this whole tag. Literally, no one will have the same characters as you. So, your tag will be unique to your blog. My biggest tip when picking characters is to look at your bookshelf and just let the names come to you. Some of the characters I have chosen are from novels that I read years ago. But, their names came to me before others so I used them anyways.

STEP 3: LET’S PLAY

ROUND 1: YOU ONLY HAVE ONE MORE SPOT ON YOUR SPELLING B TEAM, WHO WOULD YOU PICK TO COMPLETE YOUR TEAM?

Alec Lightwood (The Mortal Instruments) or Hermione Granger (Harry Potter)

Definitely Hermione. She is a genius! Although I do believe that Alec would be an amazing addition to the team, we would thrive with Hermione. She would bring our team to #1!

ROUND 2: BOTH CHARACTERS WANT TO KILL YOU, WHICH ONE WOULD YOU KILL FIRST SO YOU HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF SURVIVING?

Will Herondale (The Infernal Devices) or Daemon Black (Lux)

How did this even happen?? Why?? How could I ever kill one of them. Ahh my loves. If I really had to choose, I would pick Will. Daemon was my first book boyfriend so I would much rather NOT kill him. And even, it would be a bit easier to kill a seraph blade baring Shadowhunter, than it would be to kill a light manipulating alien.

ROUND 3: YOU’RE ON THE BACHELOR/BACHELORETTE AND YOU’RE DOWN TO THESE TWO CHARACTERS, WHICH ONE ARE YOU GOING TO GIVE YOUR ROSE TO?

Iko (The Lunar Chronicles) or Emma Carstairs (The Dark Artifices)

Omg WHYYY?!? I think I will choose Iko. Not that I don’t love Emma Carastairs but, how could you not pick Iko?? She’s just the cutest little robot ever!!

ROUND 4: YOU’VE BEEN CHOSEN FOR THE HUNGER GAMES, WHO WOULD MOST LIKELY VOLUNTEER IN YOUR PLACE?

Savannah Diamond (The Secret Diamond Sisters) or Ezra Mason (Illuminae)

Probably Ezra. Savannah would be to busy dying her hair, putting on makeup or painting her nails to even bother thinking about the Hunger Games. But, Ezra is a man. And although he has the nerves to break up with his girlfriend (Most men do haha) he would probably be more like Katniss than Gale.

ROUND 5: YOU’RE STRANDED ON AN ISLAND. WHICH CHARACTER WOULD YOU SACRIFICE TO ENGAGE IN CANNIBALISM?

Simon Lewis (The Mortal Instruments) or Noah Hutchins (Pushing The Limits)

Umm, I think Simon would enjoy it. You know, being a vampire and everything. And, I don’t think I could ever sacrifice precious Noah for anything. He’s gone through too much to have to be sacrificed for this!

ROUND 6: YOU’RE THE NEXT DC/MARVEL SUPERHERO (WITH YOUR OWN TV SHOW OF COURSE), WHO IS YOUR SIDEKICK?

Aelin Ashryver Galathynius (Throne Of Glass) or Patch (Hush, Hush)

Ummm, AELIN!! She is seriously the most badass fictional character I have ever read. Like, how cool would it be: Alaina and Aelin. OKAY, maybe it doesn’t sound as cool as Batman and Robin but, I tried. Anyways, Aelin’s fire powers would be super cool.

ROUND 7: YOU’RE A MANAGER OF AN AVOCADO ADMIRING COMPANY, WHO WOULD YOU FIRE FOR LACK OF COMMUNICATION SKILLS?

Maia Roberts (The Mortal Instruments) or Blake Saunders (Lux)

Blake Saunders. I think I would actually fire him for being such a good DB. But really, I don’t think I could ever work with him. Maia on the other side, would be that model who takes tumblr photos with the avocados.

ROUND 8: YOU’VE JUST FINISHED A BOOK IN WHICH YOUR FAVORITE CHARACTER DIES, WHICH CHARACTER IS MOST LIKELY TO COMFORT YOU?

Kaidan Rowe (The Sweet Series) or Rowan Whitethorn (Throne Of Glass)

Can I say both? How the heck do you choose one out of both of these sincere men? Yes, th can be cocky at times, but they are both such amazing characters! I can’t help butchoose both. I have blonde hair, close enough to Anna’s and Aelin’s.

ROUND 9: UGH, IT’S HIGH SCHOOL. WHO WOULD MOST LIKELY BE PART OF THE POPULAR CLIQUE?

Blue Sargent (The Raven Cycle) or Rose Hathaway (Vampire Academy)

Probably Rose. Well, unless the popular clique is four guys who are searching for ley lines. But, Rose just seems like she would be a popular, party girl. Although, she is a bit busy saving Lissa.

ROUND 10: THE DAY HAS ARRIVED; YOU’RE FINALLY A YEAR OLDER! WHO WOULD HAVE THE NERVE TO FORGET YOUR BIRTHDAY?

Chaol Westfall (Throne Of Glass) or Feyre Archeron (A Court Of Thorns And Roses)

I really don’t think either would. But if there was ever a case where this would happen, it would be Chaol. Feyre may be a hunter, but she has that kind side of her that would never forget a birthday! Chaol on the other hand, who really knows with him.

ROUND 11: YOU’VE JUST FOUND AN UPCOMING BOOKTUBER, WHO WOULD IT MOST LIKELY BE?

Mallory Dodge (The Problem With Forever) or Luna Lovegood (Harry Potter)

Ummm, LUUUNNNAAAA! I think it is quite obvious. Luna is such a great character overall. She has that “you WILL like me” side of her. AND even, Mallory doesn’t really talk. I don’t think you would even get her to talk in front of a camera.

ROUND 12: SLEEPOVER TIME! UNFORTUNATELY, YOU CAN ONLY INVITE ONE PERSON, WHO WOULD IT BE?

Tessa Gray (The Infernal Devices) or Lilac  LaRoux (The Starbound Trilogy)

I really don’t have an answer for this one. Tessa wouldn’t be too… lively of a person to be at a sleepover with. And Lilac would probably just complain a lot. So yea, I choose no one. Where the heck is Dee black when I really need her?

ROUND 13: BAM! YOU’RE PREGNANT, WHO’S THE FATHER/MOTHER?

Ronan Lynch (The Raven Cycle) or Lucinda ‘Luce’ Price (Fallen)

OOOHH, lets go with Ronan. He was that brooding, swoony, cocky bad boy that you can’t help but love. And if I was pregnant, the mother definitely wouldn’t be Luce.

ROUND 14: YOU’VE JUST WRITTEN A SUPER IMPORTANT TEXT. WHO WOULD “SEE” IT, BUT NOT REPLY?

Hardin Scott (After) or Katy Swartz (Lux)

Hardin. He wouldn’t even answer it after a month of it being on his phone. No, he’d actually be most likely to delete it. Katy, on the other hand, would obviously reply right when she sees it.

ROUND 15: YOU’VE JUST WOKEN UP AND IT’S TIME FOR BREAKFAST. YOUR MUM’S BEEN REPLACED BY… WHO?

Daniel Altan ‘Day’ Wing (Legend Trilogy) or Mia Hall (If I Stay)

I’m really hoping that it would be Mia. She would make me coffee (not decaf lol) and chocolate chip pancakes. Day probably would just give me an apple.
