A POPULAR BOOK OR SERIES YOU DIDN’T LIKE:
Probably the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. As of now, I only own/read the first book in the series (Vampire Academy) and am very disinterested in continuing the series. It’s not that I wasn’t intrigued by the content in the book, because I definitely was! But, when I was reading this book, I wasn’t solely focused on the book. My mind was in 10 different places at once. I still think that I will try Frostbite in 2017 but it currently isn’t in my best interest to continue, since there are soo many other amazing series I want to read. But just you wait…
A POPULAR BOOK OR SERIES THAT EVERYONE SEEMS TO HATE BUT YOU LOVE:
This is such an easy question! Definitely Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. A good three quarters of the book community hates this book hasn’t read it. But, the only reason people won’t read it is because they think it is pretty cliché. Well, I’ll inform all of you that many YA books are pretty cliché. But although Twilight is probably the cliché-ist of them all, it’s a definite must read for all YA readers. I’ve met so many people that have mixed feelings about this series but trust me, giving a book a go never hurts, even if you end up hating it.
A LOVE TRIANGLE WHERE THE MAIN CHARACTER ENDED UP WITH THE CHARACTER YOU DID NOT WANT THEM TO END UP WITH OR AN OTP THAT YOU DON’T LIKE:
Spoiler Alert For The 5th Wave**
There are so many books that I absolutely loved the couples in so this question was super hard. But, it all came down to two series: Throne of Glass or The 5th Wave. But Then I figured, pffttt, I liked both Chaol and Dorian in Throne of Glass…. so The 5th Wave it is! Many people will say different things about this series but, I really dislikes Evan. I was a full on Bassie shipper (Ben and Cassie). But I haven’t read The Last Star yet s maybe they got together in that! I have my prayers set high.
A POPULAR BOOK GENRE THAT YOU HARDLY REACH FOR:
Hands down, Dystopian. I used to ONLY read dystopian books and now it is pretty rare if I even read one every two months. My favorite genres have definitely changed over the years and although I still enjoy dystopias, fantasy and contemporaries have pleased my eyes a bit more! But don’t worry dystopians will always be known as my first favorite genre.
A POPULAR OR BELOVED CHARACTER THAT YOU DO NOT LIKE:
Slight Throne of Glass Spoilers**
MANON BLACKBEAK from Throne of Glass. She was one of the only characters that I coukdn’t stand reading about. I was even tempted to sim through some of her chapters but, Sarah’s writing is too amazing for that. But somehow I ended up loving every single character in the series besides her. Yup, I’m officially a weirdo. But, I plan on starting Empire of Storms as soon as I can get my hands on it and I’m hoping to have my hatred wear off on Manon. She’s such a powerful and beautiful character that I really don’t want to dislike her..!
A POPULAR AUTHOR THAT YOU CAN’T SEEM TO GET INTO:
I really don’t have an answer for this question. As of everything I’ve currently read, I have either loved or hated it. But for all of the books that I hated, it was either a first book of a series or a 5th or 6th book in a series. With that said, I couldn’t really say that I can’t get into an author if I only disliked one book by them and never read anything else by them. And if I only hate a book in the middle or end of a series (Allegiant) I couldn’t say that I couldn’t get into an author if I’d already read that far into the series!
A POPULAR BOOK TROPE THAT YOU ARE TIRED OF SEEING. (EXAMPLES: LOST PRINCESS, CORRUPT RULER, LOVE TRIANGLES, ETC.):
Ugh. Another question that I don’t have an answer for. But if I truly had to pick, it would probably be love triangles. Although, I do love myself some good ole’ love triangles. They make a romance so much more intense. And then you can discuss with the your opinion about the love triangle with the book community. Some of my favorite love triangles include Edward/Bella/Jacob from Twilight, Hermione/Harry/Ron from Harry Potter (yes, I’m counting this), Dorian/Celaena/Chaol from Throne of Glass and Simon/Clary/Jace from The Mortal Instruments!
A POPULAR SERIES THAT YOU HAVE NO INTEREST IN READING:
At the moment, the Percy Jackson series. But, I will get to it. Right now though, I have such a huge TBR and a bunch of new books I want to read that I have no intention to read the series. But hopefully by mid-2017, I will finally pick them up and give them a go!
THE SAYING GOES “THE BOOK IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN THE MOVIE”, BUT WHAT MOVIE OR T.V. SHOW ADAPTATION DID YOU PREFER MORE THAN THE BOOK:
Definitely the If I Stay adaptation. I first watched it on a 6 hour flight in the middle of the night and my mom kept giving me weird looks for watching “kissing movies”… I was 12 then. But when I got home the next day, I sat on my bed for a whole two days re-watching the movie over and over again. It was such a beautiful and heartbreaking movie. In those first two days, I probably watched the movie 10 times back to back. After that, I found a PDF file of the book online and read it in less than 5 hours and moved straight on to the sequel. And then I watched the movie a few times each day until after a week, I finally stopped watching it. I still have yet to get a copy of the book, but hopefully I will soon!
