We’ve finally made it to the end of the Lux series. The end of a journey. And although I loved this ending, I definitely wasn’t ready for it.

Synopsis:
Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came.
She can’t believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all.
Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal.
They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.
War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing.
My Thoughts:
Holy alien babies! I forgot almost every single part of this book before I reread it. I am soooo happy that I took the time to reread this book because it was amazing. And, I probably would’ve never got a review up for it if I hadn’t reread it……so yay for rereads.
Now, Opposition was the end of a huge journey for me. Although I read a lot of YA books before this series, it made me really love YA literature. The Lux series actually made me figure out that there are more people like me living around the world. Readers. Book Bloggers. Book Lovers. We are everywhere and with blogs, we unite as one. We come together and talk about how much we love or hate certain books; how much books mean to us. And Jennifer L. Armentrout really made me realize that there were people around the world who love books as much as I do. So thanks Jennifer for that.
Anyways, this book definitely didn’t disappoint. Sometimes finales just lack in completion (ALLEGIANT…..) and then you just get to savor those final sucky moments of the book FOREVER. Or at least until you reread the rest of the series over again. But, Opposition definitely did the series justice. It was quite different at the start of the book but once you really get into it, it’s like falling in love with Daemon Black all over again: slowly and sweetly. Opposition was so different and so much alike to the rest of the series. And even though that really doesn’t make a lot of sense, it’s the closest sentence to the truth.
Something I really loved about this book was all of the characters. Of course we had the group: Katy, Daemon, Dawson, Dee, Archer, Luc and Beth. But I really didn’t expect to be introduced to so many new characters! First it was Sadi and Rolland, two characters that I REALLY despised. Like for real, Sadi was hitting on Daemon. That’s just not acceptable. And then, further through the novel we reunited with Nancy Husher. **sarcastic hooray**. I really hated Nancy throughout the novels (who didn’t??) but the ending of Opposition was heart breaking for me to read. Ahhh and I can’t forget about Lore, Hunter and Serena. I can’t wait to someday read Obsession, the adult spin off of Lux to follow those three characters even more!!
SPOILERS AHEAD:
Can we just quickly talk about that ending?!?! I don’t understand what Nancy’s problem was. Like couldn’t she just be nice to the Luxen and leave their kind alone?? But nooooo…. she just had to go and make a huge scene with a gun. I am so happy that someone killed her in the end because, I don’t know how much longer I could deal with her roaming around.
Thank you to whoever came a cross this post for reading it. This whole series is definitely in my top three and I cant wait to give them another reread. Maybe next summer? Hopefully! Happy Reading everyone! ~Alaina
