Hey everyone! Today I wanted to briefly talk about the book club that me and some of my internet friends have started. I’ve always wanted to be in a book club and do little monthly read-alongs with people but have never come to do it. So, when Alex (from readersgonnaread) asked me if I wanted to start one with her, I couldn’t say no! Now, me, Alex and our friend Emily (from whogavethewrite) have started Book Bomb Reads. Below I will be talking about our book club and September’s Book of The Month!
What is a Book Club:
I thought I’d add this in here since it’s a frequently asked question. Basically, a book club is simply a group of people who read and discuss a book during a certain period of time. Ours is going to be monthly and we will be doing discussions of our book of the month and updating on our goodreads page and Instagram page frequently! I hope that cleared up the question for anyone who didn’t know!
How Did Book Bomb Reads come to be?
So as I said above, Alex came up with the idea. We stayed up pretty late using Instagram direct message to plan the whole book club and then the next day we asked Emily if she wanted to join. And of course she was very quick to say yes! So then we started an Instagram and a Goodreads page for the book club and voila! We became a running book club.
How’d we come up with the name?
It’s quite obvious I think. Books are the bomb so we took that into mind when we named the club and worked it into the name. So anyone who doesn’t think that books are the bomb isn’t allowed to join. Sorry but that’s how it has to be.
What types of books will we be reading?
We will mostly be reading YA novels with the exception of maybe an odd middle grade or NA novel. We will be reading books from all sorts of genres so be prepared for any type of book.!
September’s Book of The Month:
After some hard decisions and trying to find a book that Alex hadn’t already read, we settled on Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins. It is a paranormal/thriller that follows Harper Price as her life totally changes. Below will be the Goodreads synopsis so you can get to know the book and become interested in it:
