September TBR! [2016]

Hey everyone! August has come to an end *sigh* which means we get to welcome September and everything that comes with it! The leaves are already starting to fall where I live and the temperatures are slowly getting colder. But, September doesn’t only bring the start of fall, it also brings a new TBR. I still have quite a few books that I want to get to so this month is going to be pretty hefty! Most of the books I have picked to read are over 500 pages which isn’t going to be an easy task but I think I can do it! So before I keep ranting about how much I will struggle with my massive September TBR, let’s get into what books I’ll be reading:

(In the title of every book, I will be linking the Goodreads page so if you haven’t read the book you can check out the synopsis. I will also be linking a few stores where you can buy the book.)

Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout:

Origin (Lux, #4)This book is so amazing! I am currently in the middle of rereading it and it is just such an awesome book. Basically, in this fourth installment of the Lux series, Katy and Daemon are stuck in Area 51 and get help from an unlikely person. It’s so cool that Jennifer takes us deep into the levels of Area 51 for this novel. And, as usual, we get to meet some new characters. Archer is the newest character in the series and he’s definitely a way better person than Blake! I’m so excited to finish this book either today or tomorrow and move on to the fifth and final book of the series: Opposition. If you haven’t read anything by Jennifer L. Armentrout, I highly suggest you start by reading the first book in the Lux series, Obsidian and then making your way to this amazing book!

Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout:

Opposition (Lux, #5)Yes, this is another reread that I can’t wait to get to. I already know what happens in the end but I love this series so much that I just can’t wait to read this one. So, in the fifth and final installment of the Lux series Luxen come and attack and Katy, Daemon and the rest of the crew are left to fend for themselves. And things become a little trickier when they find out that a certain little Origin is on their way. Definitely click the title to be taken to the Goodreads page for a better synopsis!

When I read this book last year, I remember it being quite confusing at first but I already know it’s going to be as awesome as last time. None of the other books in my reread of the series have disappointed me so why would this one?

Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins:

I actually bought this one online right before I started writing this post and I can’t wait to read it. Me and two of my friends (Alex from readersgonnaread and Emily from whogavethewrite) have started a book club called “Book Bomb Reads” and this is September’s book of the month! And it’s paranormal so of course I can’t wait to read and devour the whole book. I don’t actually know what the book’s about yet so here’s the Goodreads synopsis:

Rebel Belle (Rebel Belle, #1)Harper Price, peerless Southern belle, was born ready for a Homecoming tiara. But after a strange run-in at the dance imbues her with incredible abilities, Harper’s destiny takes a turn for the seriously weird. She becomes a Paladin, one of an ancient line of guardians with agility, super strength and lethal fighting instincts.

Just when life can’t get any more disastrously crazy, Harper finds out who she’s charged to protect: David Stark, school reporter, subject of a mysterious prophecy and possibly Harper’s least favorite person. But things get complicated when Harper starts falling for him—and discovers that David’s own fate could very well be to destroy Earth.

With snappy banter, cotillion dresses, non-stop action and a touch of magic, this new young adult series from bestseller Rachel Hawkins is going to make y’all beg for more.

City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare:

I am finally getting back into The Mortal Instruments. It’s been a couple of months since I read City of Fallen Angels and I just can’t wait any longer to get back into this amazing fictional world! So, since I don’t know too much about this book I will be putting the Goodreads synopsis below!

City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments, #5)The New York Times bestselling Mortal Instruments continues—and so do the thrills and danger for Jace, Clary, and Simon.

What price is too high to pay, even for love? When Jace and Clary meet again, Clary is horrified to discover that the demon Lilith’s magic has bound her beloved Jace together with her evil brother Sebastian, and that Jace has become a servant of evil. The Clave is out to destroy Sebastian, but there is no way to harm one boy without destroying the other. As Alec, Magnus, Simon, and Isabelle wheedle and bargain with Seelies, demons, and the merciless Iron Sisters to try to save Jace, Clary plays a dangerous game of her own. The price of losing is not just her own life, but Jace’s soul. She’s willing to do anything for Jace, but can she still trust him? Or is he truly lost?

Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge. Darkness threatens to claim the Shadowhunters in the harrowing fifth book of the Mortal Instruments series.

City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare:

Now, how would I know anything about this book if I didn’t even know what City of Lost Souls was about so of course I will be putting the Goodreads synopsis down below. But I do know somethings about this final edition of The Mortal Instruments. A lot of stuff is going down the hole.

City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments, #6)In this dazzling and long-awaited conclusion to the acclaimed Mortal Instruments series, Clary and her friends fight the greatest evil they have ever faced: Clary’s own brother.

Sebastian Morgenstern is on the move, systematically turning Shadowhunter against Shadowhunter. Bearing the Infernal Cup, he transforms Shadowhunters into creatures out of nightmare, tearing apart families and lovers as the ranks of his Endarkened army swell.

The embattled Shadowhunters withdraw to Idris – but not even the famed demon towers of Alicante can keep Sebastian at bay. And with the Nephilim trapped in Idris, who will guard the world against demons?

When one of the greatest betrayals the Nephilim have ever known is revealed, Clary, Jace, Isabelle, Simon, and Alec must flee – even if their journey takes them deep into the demon realms, where no Shadowhunter has set foot before, and from which no human being has ever returned…

Love will be sacrificed and lives lost in the terrible battle for the fate of the word in the thrilling final installment of the classic urban fantasy series The Mortal Instruments!

Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas

I’ve got to say, I’ve been eagerly wanting to start this novel since I finished Crown of Midnight. But I have held myself off since I wanted to reread the Lux series. But I don’t think I can hold myself off any longer! I’ve heard such great things about this book and we’re going to be introduced to so many new characters! So, on September 7th (my first day of school) you will probably find me with my nose stuck in this book.

Now, she must travel to a new land to confront her darkest truth . . . a truth about her heritage that could change her life―and her future―forever. Will Celaena find the strength to not only fight her inner demons, but to take on the evil that is about to be unleashed?

The bestselling series that has captured readers all over the world reaches new heights in this sequel to the New York Times best-selling Crown of Midnight. Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas

And finally, I will be reading this lovely book. There was so much rave going on around this book when it first released. And now that Empire of Storms is releasing, I have to catch up! So since I once again do not know what this book is about, I will bee inserting the Goodreads Synopsis below:

Queen of Shadows (Throne of Glass, #4)The queen has returned.

Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. But she’s at last returned to the empire—for vengeance, to rescue her once-glorious kingdom, and to confront the shadows of her past…

She has embraced her identity as Aelin Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen. But before she can reclaim her throne, she must fight.

She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die for her. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen’s triumphant return.

The fourth volume in the New York Times bestselling series continues Celaena’s epic journey and builds to a passionate, agonizing crescendo that might just shatter her world.
