Hello everybody and welcome back to my blog! Summer Break started about a week and a half ago but, I was really busy with reading and planning out some of my summer. But, now I’m finally back and I’m so ready to dive back into reviewing and posting again! So without further ado, let’s dive into this review!

My Thoughts:
This is one of the few books that truly surprised me this year! I was really not in the mood to read any sort of Science Fiction or Fantasy books at the time that I read Cinder. It was during another one of my famous reading slumps of 2016 that I decided to pick up my copy of Cinder and try to enjoy a physical book. For weeks on end I would just read Wattpad stories instead of picking up a physical book. But, during my second reading slump this year, I thought to myself, “Alaina, why are you actually reading all of these weird, romantic contemporaries on your phone when you can be reading one of the many lovely books sitting on your bookshelf?” Okay, no that didn’t really happen but, you get the gist of it. So, I finally got off my lazy butt and took Cinder off my shelf and spent the next week thoroughly enjoying it!
Wow, I could become a storyteller someday!
Anyways, I really did like this book. It contained a good amount of action and romance to keep me on my toes throughout the whole novel. Although I would not rate it a full 5/5 stars, I would definitely give it a close 4!
This book had everything I wanted in it: a girl with a messed up life, a totally swoon-worthy prince that somehow strolls into her life and a BIG problem. Being a cyborg meant that Cinder would never have a normal life living in New Beijing. That’s what I liked about her. She wasn’t normal. Would never be normal. But then, Prince Kai comes strolling into her life and after a little while, hopes of turning their acquaintance relationship into a romantic one. And well, he failed. Real bad. Tip #1 that I would give Kai before he asked Cinder to the ball would be to actually get to know her! He didn’t even know about her being cyborg or living in the life of Cinderella before he asked. By the end of the novel, he didn’t even want to look at her ever again!
Queen Levana has definitely become one of my new favorite villains! Her character was both greedy and powerful during the latter half of the novel which made me come to love her! Even though I really hated how she treated Cinder, she portrayed a really strong villain. So, I’m very curious as to how her character will play out in the future novels!
Now, if you didn’t love Iko, I will shoo you into a cupboard and lock it for eternity….. just kidding! But really, who didn’t love Iko! She was the cutest little robot to ever move on the face of New Beijing! Iko made the story so much better! She is definitely on the top of my list for “most hilarious character!”
